Britt, McCravey cruise to state 4-Ball title and other sports news

After dominating the first day of the Tennessee Women's Four-Ball Championship golf tournament, shooting a 63 that was six shots better than the next closest teams, the Chattanooga duo of Jordan Britt and Georgia McCravey rolled to the victory Wednesday at The Club at Fairvue Plantation in Gallatin. Britt and McCravey finished with a total score of 127 after shooting a 64 Wednesday to claim the title, seven shots ahead of Erica Chappell and Maren Scoggins of Nashville. Also in the first flight in the field of 160, Sarah Dolmovich from Signal Mountain and partner Dori Paschall from Franklin shot a 69 on Wednesday to finish fourth at 139., and Cleveland's Linda Mullins and Charleston's Maggie Scott were one shot back at 140 after also shooting 69 in the second round. In flight 2, Crossville's Rhonda Huddleston and Jean Kraft shot 72 to finish at 146, and Vonore's Bonnie Wood and her partner Janet Kincaid finished at 150. In flight 3 Cleveland's Lisa Daubner and Cornelia Marcrom tied for second at 148 with Signal Mountain's Karen Burns and Debbie Durham, and Ooltewah's Hazel Davis and Chattanooga's Gail Fowler finished at 150 to tie for fourth in the flight. Britt also won the Division A prize Tuesday for longest drive (270 yards) on No. 7, and Hixson's Linda Carter took the Division B award for closest shot to the pin (9 feet) on No. 12.
