Several injured people are being transported via ambulance and Lifestar helicopter from the scene of a fiery crash that has shut down all north- and southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Campbell County near Caryville, officials said.

The incident, reported shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes near mile marker 133, involved two tractor-trailers and an undetermined number of other vehicles, said Jay Muncy, Campbell County Emergency Management Agency director.

One of the commercial trucks burst into flames and another may be loaded with hazardous materials, he said.
