World of Beer will open its 60th franchise in Chattanooga this weekend with two days to party.

On Friday, Aug. 29, patrons can get their first tastes of the 6,400-square-foot tavern's extensive collection of craft beers - over 500 bottles and 60 rotating taps - while enjoying music by Roberts, Sims and Starnes from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. The celebration starts at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 31, the tavern will host a Support Local, Drink Local fundraiser for Chattanooga's Kids on the Block from 6 to 10 p.m. For every local brew sold from a Tennessee brewery, a $1 donation will be made to the charity.

Celebrating the popularity of craft beer and its culture, WOB rotates taps daily so guests will discover something new on every visit. Signature craft spirit cocktails, ciders and wine along with nonalcoholic beverages are also available. To complement the many beer styles, the establishment pairs its brews with a signature Tavern Fare menu of appetizers, flatbreads, sandwiches and main plates.

The Chattanooga franchise, located at 412 Market St., is owned by Wayne Farmer and Frank Hudson. This is their third tavern and the first in Tennessee.

WOB-Chattanooga houses an infusion tower that allows the tavern to infuse fresh ingredients into a base beer (i.e. fruit, herbs, coffee, more hops) to create new flavors (ingredients go in the chamber and the beer pulls through it, marinating it in the ingredients to provide a new flavor).

The tavern also partners with area breweries, including Big River Brewing Works, Chattanooga Brewing Co. and McHale's Brewhouse in Chattanooga, as well as Blackstone Brewery, Cool Springs Brewery and Tennessee Brew Works in Nashville.
