Chattanooga Lookouts logoThe Chattanooga Lookouts' game against the Tennessee Smokies was rained out Saturday night, further muddying the second-half playoff situation in the Southern League North Division.
The rainout was reset as part of two seven-inning games starting at 4:15 p.m. today at AT&T Field. Gates will open at 3:30.
The two teams are tied for first place in the division with three games left to play. Two wins today by either team will clinch the division and earn it a spot in the playoffs, which begin Thursday. The Smokies are 33-34 in the second half of the season, while the Lookouts are 32-33.
Huntsville, as the first-half division champion, already has a spot in the playoffs.
Steve Smith (2-2, 3.26 ERA) will start the first game on the mound today for the Lookouts, with Matt Shelton (4-4, 4.19) on the hill for the second. The Smokies will go with C.J. Edwards (1-1, 2.36) in game one and Pierce Johnson (5-4, 2.49) in the second game.
