Single-vehicle wreck results in fatality
A man is dead following a single-vehicle crash around 8 a.m. Friday at 2000 Riverside Drive.
Chattanooga police traffic investigators have determined that Andreas Jackson, 27, was driving south on Riverside Drive when he hit the concrete base of a power pole. He died as a result of his injuries.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the accident.
Police investigate bank robbery
The First Volunteer Bank in Hixson was robbed Friday afternoon, according to Chattanooga police.
Scanner traffic indicates that police have contacted the FBI and are looking for the suspect, a tall male who left on foot.
No other information was available at the time.
The bank is on Hixson Pike across from Northgate Mall.
