A suspect in a fatal shooting Saturday in Hixson is in custody.

Christopher Levi Parker, 23, of Middle Valley, was arrested Sunday on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault, according to Hamilton County Jail records.

Authorities were searching for Parker on Saturday night in connection with the slaying of Robert McClure, 24, after an incident that occurred at 1334 Hixson Ave. off Norcross Road.

A Chattanooga police spokesman could not be reached Sunday for comment on the case.

Records show Parker has a criminal background. He previously pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary charges and received a four-year sentence.

Parker has also appeared in Hamilton General Sessions Court on 11 driving-related charges since 2008, including a DUI in January 2012 to which he pleaded guilty.

He is currently being held without bond and is set to appear in court Feb. 11 at 8:30 a.m., according to jail records.
