The Tennessee Wesleyan women's basketball team beat Union College 67-62 Saturday in a battle of Lady Bulldogs at the top of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, and Bryan College stayed close by holding off Reinhardt, 57-56.

In men's games involving the top four in the AAC, first-place Union won 88-74 at Wesleyan and Bryan moved up from fourth by edging Reinhardt 74-72 on Derrick Walker's follow show at the final buzzer, after losing an 18-point halftime lead. Union is 20-3, 12-1 in AAC play, while TWC is 13-9, 9-5 and Bryan (13-10) and Reinhardt (11-11) each is 8-4 in league play.

Megan Billingsby scored 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting for Bryan's Lady Lions (15-7, 10-3), who play a makeup game Monday at Point University. Billingsby's two free throws with seven seconds to go put them ahead, and Keila Formont made a steal with six ticks left.
