The Head opens for Drivin' N' Cryin' - Feb. 7

The Head, praised by Spin magazine as a "bright-eyed Atlanta trio [who] have mastered the beloved science of catchy, toe-tapping melodies plus rich vocal harmonies," will perform Friday, Feb. 7, with Southern rock stalwarts Drivin' N' Cryin' at Rhythm & Brews, 221 Market St. The band was born in 2007 when the three members -- Jack Shaw, Jacob Morell and Mike Shaw, from left -- were 14-year-old high school freshmen. The band's new EP, "Girls of the Yukon," is named for a 1980s Canadian Playboy photo spread. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. Cover is $20. For more information, call 423-267-4644 or visit
