Atlanta Braves lock down Andrelton Simmons through 2020

The Atlanta Braves announced today they have reached a long-term contract extension with shortstop Andrelton Simmons. Financial terms of the seven-year deal were not disclosed.

Simmons is the latest young piece of the Braves roster to be signed to a multi-year extension, joining fellow 20-somethings OF Jason Heyward (two-year extension), first baseman Freddie Freeman (eight-year extension), starting pitcher Julio Tehran (six-year) and closer Craig Kimbral (five-year extension).
