Yeah, those executive orders are just what we need. What does the fire represent?

Next cartoon he'll draw BO with wings and a halo as he announces what parts of the law he chooses to not enforce. What's with his chin? It looks like a breast. He should focus on his ears and make them the size of dinner plates.

I don't know what the smoke represents. The GOP fireman in the lawn chair is John Boehner, sulking because he's unable to unite the fractious House republicans so he's getting drunk.

Why can't republicans take yes for an answer? When Obama and Boehner sat down to work out the 'grand bargain,' Obama offered up cuts to MediCare, MediCaid, and Social Security including the COLA. Democrats went nuts, but Obama wanted to trade all that for a 3% tax increase on people making over $1 million.

Other House leaders were unwilling to give Obama a legislative win so they shot it down. Too bad, too, because they'll never get another shot at cuts to those programs.

Another example of blind GOP hatred trumping legislative ambitions.

So you quote the King James translation from the original Greek. The King James was a translation for the people of that day. It uses euphemisms such "as abusers of themselves with mankind" instead of Homosexual. The King James also used the euphemism "know" for sexual relations between a man and a woman.

Furthermore, you are not even quoting the original 1611 King James. It was written in Early Modern English and is almost unrecognizable to us today.

Furthermore, scores of Biblical scholars were involved in the modern translations which I provided for you at 9:04 a.m. yesterday. You obviously don't know more than them nor do I.

Harassment and targeting of the opposition.

Control of news media.

Nationalizing health care.

Disarming the people.

Nationalizing businesses and banks.

Centralized government.

Control of education.

Congress does make the laws. Obama does not enforce them. Anarchy.

We'll see in November if the people are going down the road NAZI Germany took, or whether they are fed up with Obamaism. Electing a majority that can impeach him is the only way to stop this stuff.

I did a tally of the legislation voted on by both bodies of Congress in 2013. I did not include procedural, cloture, confirmation or table votes. I also didn't include trivial votes like naming post offices.

There were 8 bills voted on by both bodies. Seven of the eight bills were written and originated in the House. Only one originated in the senate. The House voted on 141 other bills. The Senate 6. That's it. None of the normal business of appropriating funds. None of the legislation which could create jobs. The Senate had not passed a budget for a number of years until last year.

Rick, all those points you have are right on the mark. It doesn't matter what party you belong to, or if you're liberal or conservative, this is scary stuff. This latest thing with the FCC, that they say they're pulling back on, which is to send out representatives of the FCC to survey newspapers for the purpose of monitoring their content is extremely scary. That clearly violates the 1st Amendment.

BO just keeps pushing. Some dingbat named Mignon Clyburn, daughter of that Democrat from South Carolina is in charge of the FCC. I don't care what type of newspaper it is, left leaning or conservative, they should all be concerned. How much more ridiculous can it get? Someone named after a cut of meat, under the direction of a meathead, BO, is drawing up plans to exert some control over the press.

"Last May the FCC proposed an initiative to thrust the federal government into newsrooms across the country. With its “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs,” or CIN, the agency plans to send researchers to grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run. A field test in Columbia, S.C., is scheduled to begin this spring. The purpose of the CIN, according to the FCC, is to ferret out information from television and radio broadcasters about “the process by which stories are selected” and how often stations cover “critical information needs,” along with “perceived station bias” and “perceived responsiveness to underserved populations."

I'm a conservative and I do support the Tea Party because they are the only ones who believe in lower taxes, less government spending, more individual freedom, personal responsibility, less government interference and intrusion.

They are they only group who is against the rigged establishment, and the belt way culture, which benefits only the wealthy who are politically connected and if we do not change that culture, which the GOP and Democrats and the Washington elite are embedded in we will be lost for ever as the country we once were. We have already lost so much of our freedoms that if we do not turn this around quick we will never get our freedom back.

Al, In 2001 398 in the house voted for the Patriot Act and 89 in the senate. Guess there wasn't many against it. The Patriot Act was a bipartisan bill, so don't try to blame only the republicans. The act has evolved into a nightmare.

It is true Obama hasn't signed as many executive orders but the ones he has signed are by far more intrusive into our lives. It doesn't matter what party you are for you should be very wary of this trend. It only stands to reason that if he gets away with this those to follow will add to it. Now I expect all you progressive to go bat crazy.

But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.”

That was then. Now he’s gone and done it anyway.

... at one critical juncture, with an agreement tantalizingly close, Obama pressed Boehner for additional taxes as part of a final deal -- a miscalculation, in retrospect, given how far the House speaker felt he'd already gone.

The president called three times to speak with Boehner about his latest offer, according to Woodward. But the speaker didn't return the president's phone call for most of an agonizing day, in what Woodward calls a "monumental communications lapse" between two of the most powerful men in the country.

When Boehner finally did call back, he jettisoned the entire deal. The president says he was merely raising the possibility of putting more revenue into the package, while Boehner maintains that the president needed $400 billion more, despite an earlier agreement of no more than $800 billion in total revenue, derived through tax reform.

But after the breakthrough agreement fell apart, Boehner's "Plan B" would ultimately exclude the president from most of the key negotiations. Where are Republican intellectual standards? Where is a personality that represents the Republican intellectual

engine; an intellectual engine that generates governing ideas.

Am I to believe that the words of Ted Nugent, Rush Limabugh, Louie Gohmert, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann represent the

intellectual soul of the Republican Party? There is no intellectual engine that drives constructive ideas in the Republican Party.

Which brings me back to epistemic closure. The engine that drives the Republican Party is religion.

And religion is best described as follows:

“Epistemic closure describes someone who is thoroughly encased in the echo chamber of their own ideology, immune to considering

other viewpoints. The term is derived from the Greek word pistis which means faith or trust. When people live in epistemic closure,

they are immune to integrity because they only trust people who already agree with their ideology. They scan potential sources of

There is NO intellectual curiosity. No intellectual honesty in the Republican Party.

When I read Stanleyyelnats’ posts I’m always reminded of Otto West in the movie A Fish Called Wanda.
