Chattanooga Police Department investigators are searching for information about a shooting at 1932 Central Avenue this morning that left a 35-year-old Chattanooga man in critical condition.
Police said officers responded to a person shot call at 9:52 a.m.
They found Derrick Lee Thornton, the victim, sitting in his vehicle. He had several gunshot wounds to his face, arm and chest area.
He was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Chattanooga Police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Jefferson said Thornton was driving his vehicle south on Central Avenue when he was shot by a unknown suspect. There is no suspect information at this time.
The investigation is pending.
