The Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute will welcome three-time Emmy Award winner Connie Chung as the keynote speaker for Impact, its ninth annual leadership dinner, scheduled at 6:30 p.m. today, Feb. 27, at the Chattanooga Convention Center, 1 Carter Plaza. The trailblazing journalist has worked for all the major networks and was the first Asian correspondent and anchor for CBS and NBC. Lesley Berryhill, managing director of CWLI, says Chung was invited "because she helped pave the way" for women in the news industry. "As a journalist, she persevered in what, at the time, was a very male-dominated field and got the respect she deserved. Her professional achievements have inspired multiple generations of women and made her a household name." Tickets to the dinner are $65. To check on availability, visit www.cwli.org or call 423-394-8173.
