Husband and wife political pundits James Carville and Mary Matalin will be in Rome, Ga., on Thursday, March 20, to speak at Berry College as part of the Shatto Lecture Series.

Their lecture, "All's Fair: Love, War and Politics," will begin at 8 p.m. in the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center. It is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Ticket distribution begins Monday, March 10. Matalin, a conservative correspondent, has served presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. She joined the Bush administration in the first term as assistant to the president and counselor to the vice president. In that capacity, she performed as senior advisor on major initiatives, including national security, homeland security, energy, economic growth and corporate governance policies.

Carville is a political commentator and prominent member of the Democratic Party. He was instrumental in Bill Clinton's presidential victory in 1992 and was honored as campaign manager of the year by the American Association of Political Consultants. Carville, along with George Stephanopoulos, was the focus of the feature-length Academy Award-nominated documentary "The War Room," which follows the Clinton campaign. Carville is an author, speaker, restaurateur and talk show host. He and Matalin reside in New Orleans with their two daughters.

The couple co-authored the best-selling political campaign book, "All's Fair: Love, War, and Running for President." The book was named one of the top five best books on public relations by The Wall Street Journal. They recently published their second joint memoir, "Love & War: Twenty Years, Three Presidents, Two Daughters And One Louisiana Home."
