Laughing Stock

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Expanding government to the point that it becomes the central player in our lives can be construed as a tad bit Marxist.

If you liberals ever realize your dream, reason would have it that someone,(a liberal elitist for sure),would have to call all the shots. Which amazing liberal would you choose to be that shot caller? Alpo?

The Obama Administration's non-stop expansion of government will cause stock market capitalization to plummet by trillions of dollars. GDP will see little-to-no growth. What will not be so laughable is watching this destruction of our nation's wealth. What will not be so laughable is watching our unemployment rise and talent exiting our country. Who are these economic geniuses of the Obama Administration? Who is the genius creator of this cartoon?

THE FOX HEADLINE: "71% of Obama voters regret it."

Socialist dictator? Maybe not. Allowing socialist dictators to eclipse American leadership on the world stage? Unquestionably, and to the long-term detriment of freedom. His reluctance to lead has allowed a former KGB official to become the most powerful person on the planet.

The Intern is in way over his head, both in terms of crafting a national, bi-partisan domestic agenda and in terms of protecting American interests abroad and leading the free world. He brings all the skills of a neighborhood block captain to his role as head of state.

Clay Bennett’s personal attacks on his political opponents are as devoid of thought-provoking content as the t-shirts his characters wear. He is, all too often, a t-shirt sort of cartoonist.

President Obama said something a couple of months back to teabaggers, rwnj's and the rest. If you don't like the candidate the people have chosen then find you one the people will elect and put him/her out there.

The same goes for Mr. Bennett's editorial cartoons. YOu don't like what he draws then find enough people to get the Free Press side of the editorial section to include a cartoon by some rwnj.

Mr. Bennett was chosen by the Times as their "LOCAL" editorial cartoonist. If they didn't like what he draws then they would send him packing but they know a good thing when they see it. He is definitely, definitely(as RainMan would say) very good at what he does and if anyone has any doubt all they have to do is read the comments of the teabaggers and nutjobs as they climb the walls over something he has drawn.LOL

Regardless of where Obama stands on social issues like gay marriage, abortion, equal pay for women, etc., the only thing that would truly make him a "socialist dictator," as the teabagging loonies often call him, is if he should attempt in any way to take over business and put it under government control. THAT would be actual socialism. Please, any one of you RWNJ posters who have nothing better to do with your lives than to sit on your sorry asses and post your inane comments here each and every day all day long, name one instance where Obama has even come close to forcing one business under government control. Even the banking industry, which he really SHOULD have enforced some degree of control over, remains as unregulated today as it was before the recession of '08. The only way he demonstrated any socialist traits there was to bail out the crooks at the tax payers' expense - in other words, socialism that favored the banks to the detriment of all the rest of us.

If there is any socialism at work here, that is the kind that is coming from Obama: Socialism for the corporate fat cats and the rich, and capitalism for everybody else.

Spending tax payer money on GM and then putting the UAW in front of bond holders (owners) is not socialism "in any way"?

Federal take over of the whole student loan program is not socialism "in any way"?

How about the Federal lawsuit against ITT tech filed in Indiana? You can find the article in this weeks TFP archives. The government says a private for-profit business is charging too much and making unfair 1 year same-as-cash loans. Yes - the government is actually trying to make the case that they do a better and more cost efficient job of managing higher education than private industry!! This is a frivolous federal lawsuit by the Obama administration against a private business that out-competes the government alternative in the hopes of driving them out of business. Is this not socialism "in any way"?

That is all I can think of off the top of my head...
