One person is dead following a head-on collision in Bradley County on Thursday afternoon.

The Bradley County Sheriff's Department traffic unit responded to a two car wreck at the 3300 block of Springplace Road, a two-lane state highway, just before 5:00.

The sheriff's department reports that the wreck resulted in one fatality, and there were no passengers in either vehicle. This is the first traffic fatality in Bradley County for 2014.

No further information was available late Thursday.
