Republican Weston Wamp today launched a second bid to try to unseat two-term Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn.

During a news conference at the Lamp Post Group, where Wamp is director of communications, the 26-year-old Republican said Congress needs new leadership.

"Chuck is a nice guy but the truth is he is just not very effective," he said.

Wamp, who ran unsuccessfully two years ago for the same seat, said he is married and is more mature than he was when he first ran against Fleischmann.

Fleischmann's campaign responded quickly to the announcement with campaign spokesman Jordan Powell saying, "Of course Weston Wamp is running. He never stopped running after the 2012 election - except for the few months he thought about running in another Tennessee congressional district."

Powell continued, "He comes from a family consumed with politics and is simply continuing that tradition; his announcement comes as no surprise."
