Since he was here last, for a sold-out show in March 2012, country legend Don Williams has released a new album and apparently abandoned any further plans to retire.

Williams, 74, embarked on his Farewell Tour of the World in 2006, playing numerous dates in the U.S. and abroad before wrapping up with a final show in Memphis. By 2010, the same year he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, he had come out of retirement and has toured steadily since.

The new album, "And So It Goes," released in June 2012, was his first new record since 2004. On www.AmericanSongwriter.com, reviewer Hal Horowitz said the 10 tracks clock in at about 35 minutes, "[leaving] you wanting more."

Chattanooga fans may have the same feeling when he returns to the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 18. With three decades' worth of hits, the singer known as the "Gentle Giant" may have a hard time fitting every fan favorite into a single set. From 1973 to 1991, Williams put 45 songs in the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, including 17 No. 1's. Among them: "Some Broken Hearts Never Mend," "Tulsa Time" and "Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good."
