3 teens ejected in Hixson crash, 15-year-old boy killed

A 15-year-old boy is dead and two other teens are injured after a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Marsh Lane and Adams Road this morning in Hixson.

The death marks the first traffic fatality in Chattanooga this year.

Investigators say the Nissan truck they were in struck a tree before overturning on its side.

The victim's 16-year-old sister and a 17-year-old male were taken to a local hospital. It is unclear what their condition is at this time.

All three occupants were ejected from the vehicle, said Sgt. Adrian Gibb. It appears none of them were wearing seat belts, he said.

It's unclear what caused the crash. Authorities are still investigating.
