Business Briefs: Sandbox adds Chattanooga hub

Sandbox adds Chattanooga hub

Sandbox, a mobile society for top inventors and entrepreneurs under the age of 30, is inviting local young adults to apply to its latest hub in Chattanooga.

Started in 2008 in Zurich, Switzerland, Sandbox has curated a group of 1,000 members in 80 countries who are emerging leaders in business, art, academia and social change.

Chattanooga is the only hub city in the Southeast for Sandbox and will be led by Tiffanie Robinson, the founder and CEO of WayPaver; Isaiah Smallman, the co-founder of Fancy Rhino; Meshal Lakhani, a singer/songwriter; and Toni Gemayal, co-founder of Flint. Sandbox will elect about 10 new Sandboxers this year.

Applicants can apply at www.sandbox.is.

Kenco is handling warehouse and distribution for Haier America, a distributor of appliances and consumer electronics.

"We assist in coordinating containerized shipments starting with their arrival at the Port of Savannah through to delivery at retail locations throughout the Southeast," Kenco Logistics President David Caines said.
