Man injured in shooting in Chattanooga

A 20-year-old black man was shot and wounded Thursday at about 7 p.m. at 2304 Windsor St., Chattanooga Police officials said.

Officers found the victim, Justin Common, with a gunshot wound to his right leg. Common told police that an unidentified black man confronted him in front of the Woodlawn Apartments, shot him and then fled, according to a police department news release.

Common was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a nonlife-threatening injury, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
