Erlanger adds OrthoSouth

Erlanger Health System has added OrthoSouth with Drs. Richard G. Alvarez, Channappa Chandra, John A. Dorizas, Mark G. Freeman, Brandon Cincere and physician assistant Miriam Edwards to the UT Erlanger Health Network.

Alvarez has built a local and national reputation as a leader in the specialty of foot and ankle surgery. He currently serves as professor and chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga.

Chandra specializes in general orthopaedics and joint replacement and serves as vice-chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga.

Dorizas specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee, and has a clinical appointment with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga.

Freeman specializes in joint reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder, including primary and revision joint replacement. Dr. Freeman is assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga.

Cincere, the newest member of the OrthoSouth team, recently completed his sports medicine fellowship and specializes in the growing field of arthroscopic hip surgery. He also has a clinical appointment with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga.

Edwards, certified physician assistant, assists Dr. Freeman with surgery, in-patient and office patient care.

OrthoSouth, located in Erlanger's Medical Mall on E. 3rd St., Ste. C430, offers general and subspecialty orthopaedic services including advanced joint reconstruction, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, and advanced foot and ankle surgery.


Lee joins FSG Bank

FSG Bank has added Beau F. Lee as a vice president and business development officer. Lee brings over 15 years of banking experience to his new position in the bank's asset-based lending function, where loans are used to meet various cash flow needs of growing companies.

Lee earned his Bachelor of Professional Accounting degree from Mississippi State University and his MBA from Mississippi College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and licensed to practice in Alabama and Mississippi. Lee has an extensive business credit background developed during his tenure at Regions Financial, SouthTrust/ Wachovia and Central Leasing Corporation in Birmingham, Ala.


Cabe earns CFA distinction

Marty Cabe of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Hixson has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the certification mark CFP. Cabe successfully completed CFP board's initial certification requirements, which included completion of financial planning coursework and passing a comprehensive examination. Individuals who hold CFP certification must agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and uphold CFP board's code of ethics and professional responsibility and financial planning practice standards.


Hospice has new medical director

Hearth Hospice has named Dr. Julie Haun as its new medical director. Dr. Haun has worked in hospice and palliative care since 2007 and earned her hospice and palliative care board certification in 2010. She also works in private practice with Galen Medical in Hixson. Dr. Haun grew up in Chattanooga and is married with three children.

Dr. Haun graduated from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and minors in biology and art history. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2000 and went on to earn her board certification in family medicine in 2003 from the Erlanger Family Medicine Program.


CCIM appoints nine officers

The Southeast Tennessee Chapter of Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM), Chattanooga, has installed a new slate of officers and board members.

The chapter is the local arm of Chicago-based CCIM Institute, the premier organization for commercial real estate professionals which promotes excellence in industry practices. The chapter presents quarterly events of interest to the local business community with activities emphasizing continuing education, technology focused programs and professional networking.

The CCIM designation is conferred to individuals who have completed a graduate-level program comprised of 200 hours of education and met a high standard of experiential requirements. CCIM designees are bound to the strictest ethical standards of practice in the real estate industry.

He has 25 years of experience helping clients meet their financial goals. He was most recently employed as a trust department portfolio manager for a regional bank in Chattanooga, where he managed endowment, foundation, retirement plan and personal trust accounts. He was the bank's first financial planner for the region. Earlier in his career, he worked for two local registered investment advisor firms as well as Charles Schwab and Co., Inc., in Nashville.
