Terry Honeycutt guilty on most counts in meth trial

Jurors today found Terry Michael Honeycutt guilty of 11 of 14 counts he sold vast quantities of a product used in the making of methamphetamine.

Honeycutt will be sentenced May 12.

Federal prosecutors said Honeycutt sold Polar Pure, a water purification product that is nearly 100 iodine, from the Brainerd Army Store between 2008 and 2011. Iodine is a key ingredient in some methods of making meth. Polar Pure sales went from two bottles to 21,000 bottles, prosecutors said.

The trial was held in U.S. District Judge Harry S. "Sandy" Mattice's courtroom.
