Plot: This story of love, passion and betrayal from director Jason Reitman is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Joyce Maynard. It’s told from the point of view of teenager Henry (Gattlin Griffith) and the man he eventually becomes (Tobey Maguire). In his 13th year, Henry and his reclusive, divorced mother, Adele (Kate Winslet), make a rare trip to town, where they encounter an injured man (Josh Brolin), an escaped convict who asks for refuge in their home. Their feelings for him change as they learn his true story.

Rating: PG-13 for thematic material, brief violence and sexuality.

Running time: 1 hour, 51 minutes.
