Memorial adds urgent care site in Cleveland, TN

Memorial Health Care System opened its first urgent care clinic in Cleveland, Tenn., Tuesday.

The walk-in care facility, which is located at Mouse-Creek Publix Center, will be open seven days a week and treat adults and children for minor illness and injuries that do not require a trip to the hospital emergency room.

The center offers full digital x-ray and laboratory facilities in-house and will be staffed by nurse practitioners, overseen by a board-certified physician and experienced medical staff.

Ex-governor named Nevada-based pot company CEO

A Nevada-based startup that plans on selling medical and recreational marijuana products has named former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson as its CEO and president.

The announcement came as Cannabis Sativa Inc. said it had acquired marijuana research business Kush while company officials work to navigate changing state laws on marijuana and potential challenges from the federal government, which still views marijuana as a controlled substance. Johnson said he hoped to expand Cannabis Sativa into a major marijuana business and intends to work out of New Mexico to help develop products that are legal in states like Colorado and Washington.
