Peach Festival returns to Chattanooga Market - July 6

photo Find fresh peaches, along with peach salsa, peach jams and jellies, peach pastries, peach lotions and more at Chattanooga Market.

Few things say summer like a fresh peach, and they will be front and center at the Chattanooga Market, 1829 Reggie White Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 6. In fact, they will be just about everywhere.

In addition to the farmers who will bring their crop of freshly picked fruit, which is technically a drupe, vendors will be offering peach salsa, peach jams and jellies, peach-infused vinegar, peach pastries, peach candles, peach lotions and peaches-and-cream soda.

In case you didn't know, peaches are low in calories and have no saturated fats. They are a decent source of antioxidants and are rich in potassium. They also taste really good.

Chattanooga Market features more than 150 vendors selling everything from fresh produce, cheeses and meats to handmade arts and crafts.

Musicians performing Sunday will be Ryan Oyer from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and Mikaela Dewar from 2 to 3 p.m.

Admission and parking are free.
