A couple in Sequatchie County are dead after police say the husband shot his wife of 18 years and then turned the gun on himself.
The scene unfolded the afternoon of July 5, and police were called to the scene when neighbors heard gunshots from the secluded double-wide trailer at 51 Finley Circle, said Jody Lockhart, a detective with the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office.
The couple left behind a 6-year-old boy who has been placed with his grandparents. The boy was not in the home during the shooting, Lockhart said.
