The Lawsuit

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

I truly hope John Boehner follows through with his promise to sue the President.

It will be fun to see him go down in flames like Sarah Palin is this week.

You Republican sympathizers really ought to be embarrassed. You're representatives are losing their grip with any sense of reality.

John Boehner loses his temper without the President doing nothing more than expressing the simple and undeniable truth.

John Boehner will probably lose his reelection bid this time.

Even Ohio has got to be fed up with that man by now.

I hope the republicans get their butt kicked for being negligent by failing to insist on implementation of the ACA as written by Rob Emanual's brother and as passed and scheduled without congressional approval. The administration hopes for better results than the NLRB appointees ruling and the abortion drugs ruling. It appears the score is 0/2. By what authority does Obama make the many changes without congressional approval? Why are so many changes necessary?

X (indigent care cost) minus Y (federal and state implementation and administrative cost) minus a 2% across the board tax increase equals Z (zero icc).

Nancy Pelosi should be impeached for her totally false and misleading statements regarding the Hobby Lobby SCOTUS ruling. Many journalist including CNN have called her out on that lie. She is one dangerous member of congress that Obama should and it appears is avoiding when possible.

When did that D.C. phenomena occur?

In addition to the healthcare mandate on businesses to further reduce competitiveness a TFP article points out:

The first income tax levy on companies in this country was enacted in 1909, at a whopping 1 percent of net profits. Today, the rate stands at 35 percent, the highest by far of the major industrialized nations. In fact, the deleterious effects of punitive corporate tax rates are so well understood that most of our economic competitors have slashed their own rates in recent years. According to data from the American Enterprise Institute, over the past 20 years Canada has incrementally reduced its rate from 28 percent to 15 percent, Germany from 50 percent to 15.8 percent, and the former Soviet satellite states of Central Europe from 40 percent to 19 percent.

Both political parties agree that the current system is broken and penalizes U.S. economic growth. As always, however, the devil is in the details. Meanwhile with each passing year, billions in American capital and thousands of jobs go overseas and stay locked up there.

note: Ireland which has attracted several U.S. international corporations is at 11.5%.

TFP: Some large, multinational firms with armies of tax accountants and financial engineers are able to utilize legal strategies to mitigate or defer much of their tax liability. While these strategies are legitimate and clearly beneficial to shareholders, they divert scarce resources away from the most productive allocation and thereby distort economic incentives that might otherwise stimulate investment in American factories and jobs. And the system discriminates against smaller firms with predominately domestic operations that cannot effectively shelter foreign earnings.

Fairmon, US industry is sitting on a massive hoarde of unspent cash. Industry is not hurting. Manufacturing left the US because we want to shop at Walmart and pay the lowest possible price for manufactured goods. That can only happen when labor cost is low. That can happen only if they pay starvation wages to US employees or move to countries when labor is cheap. It has nothing to do with tax codes. Why is that so hard for folks to understand?

It even applies to your local burger stand, you won't buy a burger at the price to pay the employees a living wage. Try living on $14,400/year, roughly the minimum wage for a 40 hour workweek.

Canada also has a 15% industry income tax I believe. It too has the same capital gains tax, it to has a graduated personal income tax up to 22% fo $40-80K, 29%for higher income! plus it has provincial income tax.

Obviously you were never audited or your business so small and income so low there was no justification for an audit. On the contrary, Sir. I've been audited for three years, twice, over the years. I was never assessed a single cent more than I had paid.

Oh...and I had maximum earnings for an 11 year period.

"You should know the IRS doesn't have to prove anything, the burden of proof is on the tax payer."

You should know that if you don't enter an audit with an attitude, that they usually go your way. It also helps to be completely organized and ready to justify every single entry on a tax return.

It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to know that which the IRS can and cannot track. I've never had the IRS make an accusation that they were not ready to justify as well.

"I know one fellow that spent some time in the federal pokey in Atlanta because he failed to report all income. The IRS took an inventory of his assets, his purchases etc. and he was found guilty."

I refer you to my previous statement. It all goes to whether or not there is a way to trace assets. Smart people know how to make assets never appear in the first place.

"Their real motivation was the illegal nature of his business but the ATF couldn't nail him on that and enlisted the help of the IRS."

I see. I, on the other hand, have never operated an illegal business, but I'm a proud American and I'm proud to have cheated enough so that I paid my fair share of taxes.

"BTW...I have told my CPA that if there was any doubt about a deduction or expense DO NOT use it because I do not want any dealings with the IRS. I am confident I pay all taxes due and I have not had an IRS problem. The penalty for non-payment of due taxes should be more severe."

Yet you cannot prove one ounce of integrity to the peanut gallery. Your reputation took a big dump when you typed in one thread on May 18, 2014.

"So cut and paste yourself till the cows come home."

Thank you. I intend to, so long as you don't leave me alone. I've given up ever expecting you to take responsibility for your own lies.

"You're still a lying sack of sh!t."

They are YOUR lies...not mine.

You must not be aware of the alternative meaning of that word.

Your mind is in the gutter.

What are maximum earnings? I didn't realize there was a maximum one could make, I may be in trouble and not know it.

Do you really believe one can be a Christian as you claim to be and fail to pay legally owed taxes, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's?

alprova said... I don't believe anyone who complies voluntarily with reporting aspects is 100% squeaky clean, but you stick to your story.

Are you suggesting only those that are not honest fail to cheat on their taxes? Do you really think a working couple that does not own a home and have a joint income of $60,000 dollars all from an hourly wage job reported on form W-2 with no other income files a joint return taking the standard deduction are not squeaky clean tax payers? You are warped and a crook therefore think everyone is.

You know what I am referring to. Maximized earnings are those when taxes are no longer assessed against them.

You made reference to the possibility that my business interests were so small as to not be noticed by the IRS. I merely desired to dispel that notion.

"Do you really believe one can be a Christian as you claim to be and fail to pay legally owed taxes, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's?"

Yep. I sure do.

"Are you suggesting only those that are not honest fail to cheat on their taxes? Sir, the bottom line is this: Nobody is that honest, if they know they can get away with it. Nobody.

I've never met a 100% honest taxpayer and I doubt I ever will.

"You are warped and a crook therefore think everyone is."

I don't happen to believe I am either, but if it makes you feel better to demean me for being honest about human nature, then by all means...carry on.

You're lying through your fingers and you know it.

I fail to understand what you believe to be funny about all this.

I will prevail in this, no matter what.

You might be the toughest troll I have ever dealt with, but I consider that a challenge, and one I am prepared to deal with.

You've got a breaking point. I will find out what that is.

You're the only man I have ever met who was more embarrassed to be bankrupt than to be a pedophile.
