Eastbound I-24 closed in Coffee County because of crash

Interstate 24 remains shut down due to a single vehicle crash in Coffee County at the 125 mile marker eastbound.

A Ford Excursion was traveling east when a tire blew, causing the car to crash, Sgt. Bill Miller said.

The vehicle was occupied by a driver and 6 children who are members of a Nashville area dance team.

The driver and two or three children are being flown by EMS to Vanderbilt Hospital at this time, and the extent of their injuries are unknown, according to Miller.

Will update when more information becomes available.
