Georgia's Davin Bellamy arrested on DUI charge

Georgia redshirt freshman linebacker Davin Bellamy was arrested early Saturday morning in Athens on charges of speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Bellamy is the seventh known Bulldogs football player to be arrested since the 2013 season concluded with a loss to Nebraska in the Gator Bowl. Defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor was arrested this past week on a felony charge of aggravated assault and was dismissed from the team.

According to the Athens Clarke-County jail's booking report, Bellamy was booked at 5:02 a.m. The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder from Chamblee, Ga., was released a little more than an hour later on $2,000 bond.

Bellamy, a backup outside linebacker to junior Jordan Jenkins, could miss Georgia's first two games against Clemson and South Carolina under the university's athletic policies for alcohol-related arrests.
