Deputy facing child molestation charges in Georgia

MACON, Ga. - Bibb County sheriff's officials say a deputy accused of soliciting a teenage girl for sex has been arrested.

Sheriff's officials said in a statement that 49-year-old deputy Kenneth Lee Brown is accused of soliciting a 14-year-old girl for sex at an apartment complex early Tuesday morning. Authorities say Brown is accused of groping the girl and pointing a gun at a 19-year-old man.

Sheriff's officials say Brown is charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and violating his oath of office.

Sheriff David Davis says Brown may be fired pending an internal investigation.

It's unclear if Brown has an attorney. The Telegraph of Macon reports Brown's bond has been set at $55,000.
