Chattanooga State is adding five former standouts to its Athletic Hall of Fame on June 13 at the Walden Club, and the Center for Sports Medicine and longtime faculty member and former athletic director Wilkie Green will receive distinguished service awards. The inductees are Jim Plumlee (1976-78) from baseball, Kristi Jeffries Campbell (1992-94) and Barbara Stephens (1994-96) from softball and Ana Alejandra Gomez DeLo'pez (1997-98) and Jessica St. John Graff (1997-99) from tennis. The 6 p.m. dinner costs $50 and reservations can be made until this Friday by calling the Chattanooga State Foundation office at 697-2656. "Next year we're celebrating the 50th year of the college, and we're trying to get in the spirit of things by picking folks for the Hall of Fame who were involved in some of the firsts in athletics," athletic director Kim Smith said Saturday. "Plumlee was on our first baseball team, and the others were our first two All-Americans in softball and our first two tennis All-Americans."

Soccer

• Suzanne Arafa scored in the first half and the Chattanooga Football Club women's soccer team went on to a 2-1 victory, the first in the team's history Saturday evening, against the Knoxville Lady Force in Knoxville. The CFC women are 1-2. The organizations' men's teams were tied 0-0 at halftime but CFC (4-2-1, 3-1-1) won the National Premier Soccer League game 4-0 on four goals from the 54th to 68th minutes, by Luke Winter, John Carrier, Luis Trude and Chris Ochieng.

Volleyball

• University of Tennessee at Chattanooga volleyball coach Travis Filar announced his team's 2014 schedule this past week, and it includes home tournaments Sept. 12-13 and Sept. 19-20 as well as Tuesday matches against Kennesaw State and at Alabama-Birmingham and Austin Peay the first three Tuesdays of the month. This will be the first time since 1987 that the volleyball Mocs have hosted two tourneys in one season. "Hosting two tournaments gives us ... more opportunities to play in front of our fans and play in our home environment," Filar said in the announcement release. "And the timing of these tournaments allows us to play at home for a very long stretch." UTC begins the season Aug. 29-30 with a tournament in Houston and plays the next weekend in Georgia's tournament. The Southern Conference part of the season begins Sept. 26-27 and Oct. 3-4 with visits from Samford, East Tennessee State, The Citadel and Western Carolina. The SoCon tournament is set for Nov. 22-24 in Greensboro, N.C.

Running

• UTC redshirt freshman Teghan Henderson finished 10th in the second heat and 19th overall in the women's 5,000-meter run Saturday night at the NCAA East Regional track and field meet at Jacksonville, Fla. That left her short of advancing to the NCAA outdoor meet, but she was less than 17 seconds off her school-record personal best of 16 minutes, 13.03 seconds. She ran the distance Saturday in 16:29.51. "It was so hot, it was brutal," UTC coach Bill Gautier said in a school release. "She went out so fast she couldn't recover. She hung on, however, and fought back the pain."
