Courter: Things I wish my kids would ask me

Editor's note: Barry Courter has a 25-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 20-year-old daughter who is a sophomore in college.

Q: Dad, why are some people so critical?

A: Usually they think it makes them look better, or at least feel somehow better about themselves. For the most part, just ignore it, but it never hurts to ask yourself if there is some truth to what they are saying. The main thing is to not let other people hold you back or influence what you do with your life.
