12 Chattanooga area players all-state in soccer

Twelve area players were named to Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches’ Association all-state teams announced Wednesday.

Baylor, the Division II-AA state runner-up, had four all-state players: senior forward Robert Stagmaier, junior midfielder Austin Maize, senior defender Rafael Gaglianone and junior goalkeeper Colin Brewer.

There were five area players named in Class A/AA: Signal Mountain senior midfielder Robert Schorr and senior defender Andrew Clark; Chattanooga Christian junior midfielder Porter Black; Notre Dame senior midfielder Tyler Robertson, who is going to Tennessee Wesleyan; and Boyd-Buchanan senior defender Justus McMillan.

Ooltewah had two players named to the Class AAA team — junior midfielder Leudy Franco and sophomore defender Angel Santiago — and McMinn County senior forward Nelson Cardona, who will join Robertson at TWC, was honored as well.
