Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN analyst, will be the special guest at the Times Free Press Man Xpo on June 28.

Kirk Herbstreit, the former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN college football analyst, will highlight Chattanooga's first Man Xpo on Saturday at Finley Stadium.

Herbstreit said on "Press Row" on ESPN 105.1 FM last week that he was excited to make the trip to Chattanooga for the event -- he said he was planning on bringing his three sons, too -- and was looking forward to "the fishing exhibitions."

While Herbstreit, who makes his living breaking down the best of college football on Saturdays in the fall, is looking forward to the fishing events, that's far from the only activity planned for guys at the event, presented by the Times Free Press and sponsored by Dr Pepper.

"It promises to be a great day to come out and make some memories with dad or just some buddies," Chattanooga Publishing Company president Jason Taylor said. "There's truly something for all the men in your life."

Herbstreit will be the featured speaker around 3:30 p.m., participating in a question-and-answer format with Times Free Press sports writers. He will also be available from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for photos with fans, who can hold team-themed footballs on a re-created "College Football GameDay" set.

The event starts at 11 a.m. and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids, with women admitted free with a ticket-buying man. Plus, all of the activities are free with the price of a ticket.

The daylong festival ends at 6 p.m. and has something that appeals to every conceivable interest or hobby.

Everything is covered from chainsaw woodcarving to a video game truck to a NASCAR simulator sponsored by Miller-Motte Technical College.

There will be a golf simulator with a $10,000 hole-in-one contest, a rock-climbing wall and a catfish pond.

Ticket holders can register to win Google glasses, Tennessee Titans tickets, a Weber Grill, a Yeti Cooler and a year supply of Dr Pepper Ten.

"The words I use most often when describing this event to people is 'cool' and 'fun.' We hope we've created a unique day that covers all the bases of what guys like -- sports, competition, fitness, food, music, beer, etc.," CPC marketing director Lyndsi Lane said. "We have so many activities that you can literally come and stay all day."

There will a competitive wing-eating event between local police and firefighters to benefit the Forgotten Child Fund. There also will be a craft beer garden from Chattanooga Brewing Company with food available from 1885 Grill, Tremont Tavern, Sticky Fingers and Abeulo's and live music featuring Soul Mechanic at 11:30 a.m., The Bohannons at 1 p.m. and Roger Alan Wade at Sparkle Motion at 2:30.

There will be several vendors on site such as American Dudes, Brainerd Army Store, Carter Shooting Supply & Range, Chattanooga Fish-N-Fun, Cigar Man, Hanover Blue, Highpoint Climbing and Fitness, Rock/Creek and Red Wing Shoes, as well as several others for kids.

Plus, there will be some football-related events such as the UTC-sponsored "Catch a Punt" drill where you can try to catch a launched punt from a Juggs machine and the familiar Dr Pepper Challenge, where you can try to throw as many footballs through the Dr Pepper barrel in 30 seconds. The top 10 of the Dr Pepper Challenge will qualify for a chance to compete at 3 p.m. with the winner in the finals receiving $2,500 and the runner-up getting $1,000.
