Retiring Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Janice gets Public Service Award

The first female to serve as the Tennessee Supreme Court chief justice retires this year.

The Tennessee Bar Association honored Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Janice M. Holder today with the 2014 William M. Leech Jr. Public Service Award at the Tennessee Bar Association's annual meeting in Gatlinburg.

The Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Fellows gives the award for outstanding service to the legal profession, the legal system and their community. Holder will retire Aug. 31. She has served on the state Supreme Court since 1996.
