Police found two people dead inside an East Ridge home Saturday after concerned neighbors noticed mail and newspapers accumulating.
Investigators arrived and found the front door of the home at 4016 Ealy Road unlocked and a male victim, John Frost, in a recliner chair with his right hand in his lap holding a pistol.
He appeared to have a single gunshot wound to the right side of his head, a police report said.
The second person, Cynthia Luedkebriant, was found lying on her back on the floor in a hallway. A cordless telephone was found lying next to her. Police could not determine her cause of death.
Officers found a spent bullet resting on the windowsill that appeared to have passed through a chair, hit the wall and cracked the living room window.
East Ridge police are awaiting results from the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office where the bodies are being analyzed.
