University of Tennessee at Chattanooga basketball coach Will Wade was named Southern Conference coach of the year this afternoon by a vote of the media in the league.

In addition, senior forward Zaccheus Mason earned first-team All-SoCon honors from the media and sophomore forward Casey Jones earned a spot on the third-team.

The coaches voted both Mason and Jones to their 10-man All-SoCon squad and named Mason the defensive player of the year.

Davidson forward De’Mon Brooks earned player of the year in both polls.
