A Riceville, Tenn., man is believed to have shot his elderly aunt to death Tuesday before turning the gun on himself.
Sources said the McMinn County Sheriff's Office got a call from 352 County Road 754 saying only, "murder suicide."
Records show the property belongs to Kenneth Dickson and his wife, Catherine.
WATE-TV in Knoxville reported that deputies went to the home, where they found Kenneth Dickson, 65, outside the back of the home, dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. Inside, they found Kenneth Dickson's aunt, Helena Spect, 85, dead in her bed of apparent asphyxiation.
According to WATE, Catherine Dickson, 67, told officers she had been in the shower.
Sheriff Joe Guy told the television station that evidence pointed to problems between Dickson and the aunt.
The bodies were sent to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for autopsies and the investigation continues.
