Chattanooga fire investigators responded to a car fire at 5953 Shaw Ave. shortly before 7 a.m. today.
The fire appeared to be deliberately set and Chattanooga police were brought in for assistance, officials said.
The suspect Daryl Powell was taken into custody and charged with setting fire to personal property.
