Man injured in drive-by shooting in Chattanooga

Cedric Edwards, 20, suffered a gunshot wound to the right upper leg this morning while standing outside 7766 Basswood Drive.

A Chattanooga Police Department release said it had responded to a local hospital concerning a person who had been shot.

Edwards said he had been outside the Basswood Drive address when he noticed a blue four-door vehicle with four black males in front of the residence.

The release said the parties in the vehicle started shooting with the result that Edwards suffered the wound.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of the non-threatening injury.
