Police have arrested two people in connection to a double shooting that happened at a bar early Sunday in Dalton, Ga., but another suspect was still at large Sunday evening.

In a news release, Dalton police said Juvencio Vega Garcia, 20, and Fernando Resendiz, 21, are charged with one count of homicide. Police spokesman Bruce Frazier said they are charged as accessories to the shooting that happened early Sunday morning outside the Las Delicias Bar at 511 E. Morris St.

Police are still looking for the man believed to have pulled the trigger, 20-year-old Orlando Ramirez.

Frazier said detectives determined that Garcia, of 903 N. Hamilton St., and Resendiz, of 1601 Beverly Drive, were with Orlando Ramirez before, during, and after the shooting.

Police spent hours Sunday morning investigating the shooting outside the Las Delicias Bar at 511 E. Morris St. around 12:50 a.m. Sunday. One died at the scene, according to a news release from the Dalton Police Department. The other, 37-year-old Daniel Maldonado-Flores, was reported to be in stable condition at the scene and was taken to Hamilton Medical Center.

Police say Ramirez on warrants for one count of homicide and two counts of aggravated assault. His last known address was 209 Beulah Drive in Dalton. Ramirez is 5'7" and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has brown eyes.

Details of the altercation remained unclear Sunday, but police have not ruled out the possibility of gang-related activity, Frazier said.

"The incident leading up to the shooting was not very long," Frazier said. "So we're not talking like two people were in a fight outside the bar and it escalated. That's not the case."

Ramirez has a tattoo of a teardrop under his right eye and Frazier said it did not take long to figure out who they were dealing with upon arriving at the scene.

Frazier said that police have responded to the Las Delicias Bar in the past, but not significantly more than they respond to calls at other bars.

The bar sits below the Quick Stop convenience store.

Anyone with information about Ramirez's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Chris Tucker at 706-278-9085, extension 165, or call 911.
