KNOXVILLE - Human remains pulled from Fort Loudoun Lake last week have been positively identified as those of South Knoxville man Derek Funk, who had been missing since 2010, authorities said Tuesday.

Investigators and family members were cautiously optimistic that the remains might be those of the 19-year-old after his pickup was discovered underwater in the same area Thursday.

The cause of death, however, has yet to be determined, Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said.
