Little EmiSunshine to appear on 'Today' show Friday

East Tennessee's little EmiSunshine has gone viral. Emilie Hamilton, the 9-year-old singer-songwriter, who goes by the stage name EmiSunshine has appeared regularly on Market Square, in concert halls, flea markets and on sidewalks all around East Tennessee. Over the past two weeks she has become an Internet star she will appear on NBC's "Today" show on Friday, March 28, between 9 and 9:30 a.m.

Hamilton's dad, Randall Hamilton, who plays bass for his daughter's band The Rain, and also operates Hamilton Sound and Recording, said that someone filmed a performance at a Sweetwater flea market a few weeks ago and posted it to YouTube. Suddenly, the video of EmiSunshine singing Jimmie Rodgers' "Blue Yodel No. 6" was everywhere. It was picked up on Glen Beck's website, TheBlaze.com, Huffington Post, ABC News, Fox News and Yahoo News all featured small stories on EmiSunshine. The original video has since been taken down by the person who filmed it, but other video performances are getting thousands of hits.

"We had a reality show pitched to us yesterday," said Hamilton. "Why would you want your music tied to a reality show? That might get her name out there, but that's not going to help you 15 years from now."
