University of Tennessee at Chattanooga basketball coach Will Wade said today that sophomore guard Gee McGhee, freshman center T.J. Williams and freshman guard Anthanee Doyle will be transferring out of the program.

"All three are looking for new schools and we're assisting with that and we'll do anything we can to find somewhere new that will be a better fit for each of them," Wade said. "Each situation is different. My background is in teaching, so you feel that you can reach every kid. Sometimes that doesn't happen.

"It's tough, but we're going to help them find the right situation."

The freshmen barely played this season, so their decision to move on is not a surprise. Williams played in 24 games, and Doyle played in 11 games after suffering through health problems in the preseason.

But McGhee started all 33 games at shooting guard and finished the season averaging 10 points per game and led the team with an average of three assists per game.

"Gee had a great season for us and has been very productive and had a really nice two years here," Wade said. "It's one of those things where he was looking for a change and to be somewhere that better suits his game and his style of play.

"He was a reason for our success this year."

UTC went 18-15 overall, 12-4 in the Southern Conference which placed them second during the regular season.
