Hamilton County commissioners next week are expected to approve the sale of four acres of land near the Tennessee Riverwalk for a nuclear power support company to expand in Chattanooga.

County Mayor Jim Coppinger plans to sell a lot in the riverfront industrial park there for $70,000 an acre to Babcock & Wilcox Intech Inc. The company plans to consolidate its three local locations, expand into the new 30,000-square-foot site and add 50 high-wage jobs.

During the commission's Wednesday agenda session, county officials didn't have any questions on the sale, but assured company officials they plan to approve it.

"That's a win-win for Hamilton County and the city of Chattanooga," Commissioner Joe Graham said.
