The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team swept Saturday's home Southern Conference doubleheader against Western Carolina, 1-0 and 10-2 in five innings.

Sophomore Katie Henderson pitched the shutout for her 15th win of the season, and Alyssa Taylor's fifth-inning single scoring Sarah Beth Roberts was all the offense the Lady Mocs needed in game one. Roberts and Nicole Osterman each went 2-for-3.

Roberts and freshman first baseman Jesslyn Stockard each homered in a five-run first inning in the second game, and UTC never looked back. Stockard finished with four RBIs, and she, Roberts, Criket Blanco and Sam Taylor each went 2-for-3.

Junior pitcher Taylor Deason allowed two unearned runs on three hits with six strikeouts over five innings.

Lady Vols win

The eighth-ranked Tennessee softball team beat Ole Miss 5-3 on Saturday, when the Lady Vols (41-9, 16-7 SEC) honored their three seniors.

Ellen Renfroe got the pitching win, and fellow seniors Madison Shipman and Melissa Davin had hits. Shipman had two RBIs and Cheyanne Tarango was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer. East Hamilton graduate Shalilyah Geathers scored as a pinch runner for the Lady Vols, who won 11-6 on Friday after trailing 6-0, as Annie Aldrete had two homers and three RBIs and Rainey Gaffin drove in five runs.
