Grammy nominee Bobby Rush to headline Bessie Smith Strut

Grammy nominee Bobby Rush will headline this year's Bessie Smith Strut, according to an announcement officials at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, which is again teaming with Friends of the Festival to produce the event.

Also performing will be roots rock 'n' roller Nikki Hill, funk artist Andy Allo, blues artists Big James and the Chicago Playboys and the Rusty Wright Band and Boukou Groove (with Donnie Sundal and Derwin "Big D" Perkins).

Rush is a musical pioneer, musician, guitarist, singer and songwriter. He will perform on the Bessie Smith Cultural Center

Stage at 8:35 p.m.

Tickets are $7 in advance (through June 6) or with a Riverbend pin, and $10 at the gate without a pin. Advanced tickets may be purchased at the following outlets: Bessie Smith Cultural Center, 200 E.
