Rossini’s ‘Cinderella’ story closes out Met series

Bel canto master Juan Diego Flórez portrays the dashing Prince Ramiro in Rossini’s “Cinderella” story, “La Cenerentola,” to be presented as the final performance in The Met: Live in HD series. The title role is sung by American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, whose performance was described by The New York Times as “dazzling, plucky and endearingly poignant.” The production premieres at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in select movie theaters, including Hamilton Place 8, 2200 Hamilton Place Blvd., and East Ridge 18, 5080 South Terrace. An encore performance is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14. Approximate running time is three hours and 40 minutes. Tickets are $24 for adults (discounts for seniors and children at the Hamilton Place location). For more information, visit www.metoperafamily.org.
