UTC women 19th in West Regional

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's golf team appears to have just one round of golf remaining in its 2013-14 season.

The Mocs are 19th out of 24 teams after two of three rounds at the NCAA West Regional, from which the top eight will advance to the national championship tournament. UTC is is at 52 over par through 36 holes, 23 strokes behind eighth-place Iowa State. Tennessee is 15th at 47 over.

Defending national champion Southern California and Arizona State are tied for the lead at 2 over par at the Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash. Kyung Kim of USC and SooBin Kim of Washington lead the medalist race at 4 under.

The Mocs shot 24 over on Friday. Lone senior Jordan Britt followed a first-round 77 with an 82. Emily McLennan, who won the Southern Conference championship, shot a 76 to lead the Mocs and is tied for 69th individually, while Britt is tied for 87th heading into the final round today.
