Lane wins 4th District endorsement

Steve Lane, candidate for the 4th District seat in Congress, has been endorsed by the Republican Liberty Caucus.

Lane, an Air Force veteran and building construction teacher at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Nashville, is from Murfreesboro. He is challenging incumbent Scott DesJarlais, of South Pittsburg, and state Sen. Jim Tracy, of Shelbyville, for the nomination.

Matt Nye, chairman of the RLC, said in a news release that "Tennesseans will find comfort in [Lane's] solid, no-nonsense approach to government, and his experience as a teacher makes him uniquely qualified to tackle issues of federal over reach like Common Core."

Nye said the Republican Liberty Caucus is an IRS 527 voluntary grassroots membership organization, founded in 1991 and dedicated to working within the party to advance the principles of individual rights, limited government and free markets.
